In our first assignment, we focus on Women's Blouses / Jackets.

We should choose a specific model/fabric and to investigate the appearance, the comfort and the technical construction of the fabric.

The Style
We have selected this jacket inspired by Chanel classics. This style is perfect for indoors or spring/summer season and it is targeting girls/women in age group 20-50 with middle range of income.

Furthermore, we expect that this jacket will have the following qualities and characteristics:

Regarding appearance
It should have a very good fit and it should not loose its shape, therefore not stretch.
The fabric should not wrinkle.

Regarding comfort
The fabric should be soft to the skin.
It is expected to provide some warmth especially to the shoulders but this is not the main purpose of the jacket.

Regarding price level

Middle priced level from (300 to 800 dkk)

Composition
100% Acrylic (PC), which is a synthetic fibre. It is a lightweight, soft and warm. Dyed acrylic has a highest lightfastness, meaning that the colour does not get affected by the sun/light. It is washable and generally hypoallergenic.

Structure
Looking at the weaving on microscope, we can see that it is a combination of two weavings where the base one is a plain weave. The combination of weavings is used in order to create the unique view of the fabric.

Conclusion
Stating what qualities we want our indoor jacket to have, we can conclude that acrylic fabric would be very suitable. It is soft, often used as a cheaper alternative of cashmere, warm but blocking the heat to set the shape of the garment and cheaper than other relative fabrics like cashmere or wool.
